Drop Out Orchestra

We all procrastinate. Particularly me when it comes to most things but I finally overcame my bad habits to share with you a musical duo who make disco sound oh so wonderful . Hailing from Sweden, Drop Out Orchestra has mastered the art of disco.

When listening to their music, you'll notice an emphasis on a powerful bassline that you can't help but move your body too. The reason being is that not only is the bassline an important aspect to their music if not THE most important part but it's also a feature in their live sets. They combine a live bass guitar and sometimes drums with their own DJ set which makes for an amazing and unique experience. I could go into how individually awesome each one of these tracks I've provided below are but the music speaks for itself. If your looking for some fresh dance music, Drop Out Orchestra is what you've been waiting for.

Your gonna want all of these :-)

I hate New york. 20102010.

New Yorkers get to have all the fun. Last night, everybody at the Phoenix concert in the Big Apple was treated to a surprise encore, just onna 'counta the date was 10.20.20.10.

DAFT PUNK AND PHOENIX TOGETHER IN MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. SHARING A SET.

they unveil themselves...with a goddamn Harder/better/faster/stronger + around the world + If i ever feel better megamashup

FUCK. This is too good. Shot from the rafters from the harder-better-faster-stronger remix to 1901.

Here's 1901 with a little crowdsurfing and a great group shot at the end.

The French date was 20.10.2010. Mon Dieu. Does this mean this is it? Can we finally expect a full Daft Punk tour in 2011? Will they have Phoenix continue to rock the fuck out with them on stage? Am I having a heart attack?

Special delivery from Jamaica

We got some great stuff sent to us today that I know is gonna help carry you through the rest of these gloomy rainy days until that beautiful season of party 'n bullshit we call summer. Jamaica (formerly known as Poney Poney), are the Parisian duo of Antoine Hilaire and Flo Lyonnet. Right now they're working on their debut album which is being produced by none other than Xavier de Rosnay of Justice and the sound engineer that worked with Daft Punk, Peter Franco. Needless to say, we're expecting great things. The album includes the almost annoyingly catchy track, "I think I like U 2", which if you haven't checked out yet, skip everything and scroll down the page for that little piece of indie pop gold. And hey, if this guy likes it, they must be doing something right. The album is coming out soon so we can't wait. Until then, check out their Bermuda Party Compilation along with some Breakbot and Buffalo Bunch remixes after the break that'll have you bee boppin' all the way to those sunny, summer days.

NEW Two Door Cinema Club Video + Twelves Remix

Irish indie rockers, Two Door Cinema Club, just came out with a new video for their song Something Good Can Work. I am loving their debut album Tourist History and it may or may not be my favorite album this year thus far (its a LONG year, folks!). Bottom line: it's a solid Indie/Electropop album with many catchy, quality tracks that will easily get stuck in your head. If you haven't already, be sure to go pick up their album however you kids get music these days.

The video brings a feeling that the rain/winter weather is coming to a close and that the sunshine of spring is on the horizon for Portland. Summer definitely needs to come sooner. Or at least SOME SUN.

BONUS:
We LOVE The Twelves. BBC's Radio 1 put it best by calling them "Brazil's answer to Daft Punk". Talk about the best praise ever. Check out their remix of Something Good Can Work along with their other remixes and original tracks.
