Fabian - Last Flight

Good. You made it. Fabian has always been my favorite producer off of the Binary label. The man can really work a synth. His debut album Say Goodbye is set to release August 22nd and he is teasing us all with his first single of that album. The vocals in Last Flight will instantly get stuck in your head but the track really kicks off once the bass line comes in. Check out some of his other work below.

Reachin' Out Compilation

This is an awesome compilation that features unreleased tracks by some pretty solid producers (Quinten 909, Justin Faust, Phantom's Revenge, Free Magic...). Not only is the music great but all proceeds are donated to the Red Cross for their Japan Relief aid. A $5 minimum donation will get you these tracks which is well worth the money considering the quality of some of them. Good music for a good cause.

Some springtime jams for ya, dudes.

Straightforward: Here are some great songs for spring. Listen to it when you're like, holy shit, it's super nice out and I want to project a musical accompaniment to my great experiences outdoors! Wonderful!

Star Slinger is super soothing, chopped up vocals over great beats and melodies. Kind've reminds me of Pogo's take on chopping Disney movies. And it might just be because it has 'walk
in the title, but its a damn good 'walking through a busy area with headphones on' song.

Madeon's take on Que veux - tu is almost old era, funky chopped up banger. But instead of sticking entirely with that, the song incorporates some dreamy, swirly Futurecop-esque aspects. Tis great.
Btdubs, Yelle is coming to Portland on May 15th.

Also, hell, why not some Avicii.

Poolside - Do You Believe?

Poolside consist of LA duo Filip Nikolic and Jeffrey Paradise. They describe their music as 'day time disco' which for me is all the description I need. Utilizing a pool house as their recording studio, their music is the perfect soundtrack to any warm summer pool party. The track Do You Believe? will be released March 14 on Future Classic Records. Check out their video to get a closer look at Poolside.

LBCK European Tour Video + new track!

LBCK spent the last month touring and tearing it down in Europe in their first ever European Tour. I would say it was a complete success as you can see in their 'European Adventure' tour video that they just released. The video features the electro duo getting to know far away friends in the business, exploring the countries and, of course, rocking shows in Belgium and Germany, as well their "Start" Release Party in France and I Love Electro Festival in Italy.

To complement the success of their tour and video, LBCK has given us a new FREE track in 320 kbps!

Sasquatch LINEUP!

107.7 The End out of Seattle just snuck out this poster with the lineup for the 10th Sasquatch Music Festival. Here we go! See you there!

Straight Up

Alright, I'ma get right to business so you can get back to your blazy Sunday. And we are gonna get blazy on this one ladies and gentlemen so sit back, relax, and let's light that fire. Oh, and it's the $uper Bowl as well so grab a drink will ya?
First up, Matthew Kyle. Now I've been meaning to do a post on this guy for a while but for now I'll just let you take a dip in some of my favorites from this SlowJamSexMaster. More from this guy to come, I guarantee it.

If you haven't already heard of B. Bravo, well here we go. Hailing from that place known as The Bay Area and dropping some great beats like none other.
B. Bravo - Swing My Way RMX (Couldn't embed this bad boy, but you'll wanna check this one out.)
B. Bravo - Midnite (My fave and the one that got me obsessed.)

A more funkafied "New Beat" from Toro Y Moi's LP Underneath the Pine. Mark February 22nd on your Calendar people.

Alright, last but certainly not least. Some NW Sol for ya. This kind of honest rap has got a great West-Coast feel to it and gives me confidence/excitement for the future of hip-hop. Look out for the Prince of Seattle in the near future. Let it flow.

That's a wrap, go Packers.

RÜFÜS

For some reason the only music I've been posting as of late has had some ties to Australia. Its a pure coincidence. Or its probably because that country has been pumping out some spectacular music in the past few years: The Presets, Cut Copy, Miami Horror, Midnight Juggernauts, DCUP, GLOVES, Das Moth, Damn Arms... to just name a few. Well, now you can add RÜFÜS to that illustrious list. RÜFÜS are three dudes from Sydney who have that unique Australian sound which I'm currently infatuated with.

Their tunes consist of a lo-fi groove generated by subtle beats, an alluring melody and dreamy vocals. Their vocals has a Presets sound to it especially when it reaches the falsetto like in Paris Collides (my fave). They recently released their first EP of their own label MONEKELEON but they have plans to release a club version of We Left with remixes from Go Go Bizkitt!, Brokeone, Symbolone, Beaumont, Springflower, Monseiur Adi, and Ride the Universe. A solid list of remixers so you know I'll be eagerly awaiting that release. Hopefully they'll release an album soon because I could use some more RÜFÜS in my life.

[VIDEO] Metronomy - She Wants

If you didn't know already, Joseph Mount and the gang are getting ready to debut their third album The English Riviera in April.
I can't fucking wait.
Especially when I read this quote from bassist Gbenga Adelekan:
"We've been recording a new album which is pretty much done. Some of it is like Daft Punk meets the Eagles if you can believe that. Some of it is even weirder, more electronic. Some of it is almost like stuff from the first Metronomy album, very weird electronica. And then there's some really cool pop music on there as well. We've gotten a really good response to the new songs we've played. It's going to be a lot of fun to play live."
Daft Punk meets The Eagles? I'm down. Until then, check out the video for their first single "She Wants" directed by Jul and Mat. It's a brilliant piece of work, showcasing the french duos creative expertise in motion design and special effects. Oh, and the song? It's got that very distinct Metronomy sound but with a more composed and relaxed vibe that I can't get out of my head.

AMTRAC

Volcano children, allow me to introduce Amtrac, a 23 year old Kentucky native who cannot be relegated to a single genre. His tracks feature influence from all sorts of music, from nu-disco to synth pop, from electro house to dubstep, from breath takers to straight rump shakers. He released an EP entitled WHY and it definitely demonstrates his versatility as an artist, but the question remains which genre path will he actually follow? Or will he do the Diplo thing and just produce whatever he feels like?

Behold, the WHY EP

Amtrac - Emergency (My personal favorite, the whole thing is a ridiculous booty bass infused build)

Amtrac - Feel Good

Amtrac - Overtime

And not to be overlooked: the remixes

I haven't heard one of his songs that I don't like yet, let me know if you find one.

Bag Raiders + GLOVES

I did a post a bit ago on Das Moth formerly of Damn Arms. Great tunes. Well since the falling out of the band, another member by the name of GLOVES has been making a whole lotta noise with his own productions. His most recent remix is of Bag Raiders' Sunlight. Probably my favorite of his many remixes. Soft, smooth house music that'll have you dancing uncontrollably in the sunlight. I've had this on repeat over the weekend and it's about time I share this disco gem with you all. If you like what you hear, check out his other remixes and hit him up on the Facebook. Sorry myspace :-P

Das Moth

Das Moth is a side project of Tim Sullivan formerly of the awesome aussie band Damn Arms. He slapped da bass. Well he's been making some super groovy tunes in the past few months and all I can say is that I'm in love with it. He made a mix for Cutter Records (Cut Copy) and released a couple of tracks as well. If you love his original work, check out his mix. 70 min of pure gold to put the dance in you.

Miami Horror remixes Gorillaz

Last Friday a Miami Horror remix of Gorillaz' Empire Ants was unveiled to the world on an Australian radio program. Makes sense since the Miami Horror boys hail from aussie land. The gentle synths and tropical beats makes you wanna trade in this persistent Oregon rain for a sunny, warm beach. Right-click and save the link below to download.

Drop Out Orchestra

We all procrastinate. Particularly me when it comes to most things but I finally overcame my bad habits to share with you a musical duo who make disco sound oh so wonderful . Hailing from Sweden, Drop Out Orchestra has mastered the art of disco.

When listening to their music, you'll notice an emphasis on a powerful bassline that you can't help but move your body too. The reason being is that not only is the bassline an important aspect to their music if not THE most important part but it's also a feature in their live sets. They combine a live bass guitar and sometimes drums with their own DJ set which makes for an amazing and unique experience. I could go into how individually awesome each one of these tracks I've provided below are but the music speaks for itself. If your looking for some fresh dance music, Drop Out Orchestra is what you've been waiting for.

Your gonna want all of these :-)
